The “Nara Prefecture Export Promotion Council for Branches” was jointly established in September 2021 by JA Naraken Nishi-Yoshino Flower & Tree Division and Hori Engei Co.
Nara Prefecture, where we are active, is a very attractive city with three World Heritage sites, many historical buildings and customs, and is about an hour’s drive from major cities such as Osaka and Kyoto. And it is a very suitable area for growing quality flowers due to the large temperature difference between morning and evening, making it possible to produce a wide variety of flowers and plants throughout the four seasons.
We are particularly pleased that “Nara-Nishiyoshino,” where we are based, is a production center for cut flowers, branches, and flowering plants, and is called “the department store of flowers and trees” by people in the industry. However, even such a production center faces numerous problems, the most serious of which is “declining demand in Japan and a lack of bearers. This is a structural problem that is very difficult to solve, but if we do nothing and simply go with the flow, there is no way to solve it. We have established this council with the hope that it will serve as a catalyst for overcoming this situation.
By making our cut flowers, branches, and trees known to people in Japan and around the world, we will work together to create a virtuous cycle of product recognition and supply, increased demand and production, increased agricultural income, and the securing and fostering of bearers of the industry. We will work as one to create a virtuous cycle of “growth of agricultural income” and “securing and fostering of farmers”. We will be more than happy if these activities contribute to the maintenance and formation of our hometown and production area with its magnificent nature.
Our business environment is changing at a faster pace, and we are entering a new phase with an increase in global projects. We will continue to make every effort to be of service to you in the future. We look forward to your continued guidance and encouragement.
